Irvine Valley's women's volleyball team takes on Santiago Canyon College in an Orange Empire Conference match Friday at home at 6 p.m.
Irvine Valley (3-12, 3-4) defeated Fullerton in straight sets, 25-14, 25-23, 25-16, at home on Wednesday.
Freshman opposite Hailey Oldham finished with 10 kills, nine digs and three blocks, and sophomore outside hitter Audrey Fowler and sophomore outside hitter Alya Mersin each contributed five kills.
Fowler also had a team-high 14 digs, and Mersin had eight digs and two blocks.
Freshman middle blocker Valeria Leon added four blocks, sophomore libero Nikki Korneff finished with 11 digs and freshman setter Alondra Castro ended with 22 digs.
On the year, Oldham is averaging 3.08 kills and 2.25 digs per set, Fowler averages 2.12 kills and 4.19 digs per set, freshman setter Emmi Scelzo is averaging 7.67 assists, Castro averages 5.00 assists per set and Korneff is averaging 3.37 digs per set for IVC.
The Lasers play again next Wednesday in a conference match at Riverside at 6 p.m.
Santiago Canyon has a record of 4-5 overall and 2-5 in the Orange Empire Conference.
The Hawks swept Santa Ana on Wednesday.
Setter Peyton Speakman had 37 assists and Chelsea Riedel finished with 19 kills.
Sophie Ziglinski added eight kills and Riley Bingel had seven kills and hit .636 on the night.
On the year, Riedel is averaging 4.69 kills per set, which leads the conference. Ziglinski averages 1.67 kills and Speakman is third in the conference in assists, averaging 8.40 per set.
