The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team hosts its final home match of the season Friday night against Cypress at 5 p.m.
It is sophomore night for the Lasers with IVC and coach Alissa Blevins will honor Audrey Fowler, Kayla Torres, Alysa Mersin, Nikki Korneff and Jayva Andersen
Cypress has a record of 11-10 overall and 8-3 in the Orange Empire Conference.
The Chargers are tied for third place in the OEC.
Cypress swept Santiago Canyon, 25-8, 26-24, 25-19 at home on Wednesday.
It was the team's third victory in a row.
Cypress received 12 kills and two blocks from Zoe Ziegler, eight kills, 10 assists, 10 digs and three aces from Keilyn Flores, seven kills and 10 digs from Andrea Briseno and seven kills from Amanda Kalpakoff.
Hailey Church contributed 18 assists, six digs and three aces.
On the year, Ziegler is averaging 3.26 kills, Briseno averages 2.89 kills and Kalpakoff is averaging 1.84 kills. Church averages 5.34 assists per set. And Ziegler leads the OEC in blocks per set at 1.16.
Irvine Valley (5-14, 5-6) fell at Golden West, 25-19, 25-21, 25-21, on Wednesday night. Sophomore outside hitter Audrey Fowler led the Lasers with 11 kills and 11 digs.
Freshman opposite Hailey Oldham added eight kills, sophomore libero Nikki Korneff contributed 15 digs and freshman setter Alondra Castro had 25 assists and nine digs for IVC.
On the season, Fowler is averaging 2.35 kills and 3.91 digs per set, Oldham is averaging 3.03 kills and 2.17 digs per set, sophomore Alya Mersin has averaged 1.64 kills per set, Korneff is averaging 3.38 digs per set and Castro averages 6.47 assists per set.
IVC finishes up with its final four matches on the road.
