Irvine Valley all-Orange Empire Conference player Avery Bennett has committed to NCAA Division II Vanguard University for beach volleyball.
Fowler, out of Tesoro High, played two years of beach and one season of indoor volleyball at IVC.
She helped Irvine Valley to an indoor team Orange Empire Conference championship in the fall of 2023 and a trip to the state championship, a beach OEC team title in the spring of 2024 (the team went 14-0 in conference).
During the 2023 indoor season, she averaged 1.36 kills and 0.67 blocks per set.
This past spring with beach, Bennett and her partner, sophomore Audrey Fowler were undefeated in conference play during the regular season on the top court for the Lasers.
The duo finished second at the Orange Empire Conference Championships, were named first team all-OEC and made the So. Cal. regionals.
IVC's beach team ended with a record of 10-14 overall.
Vanguard's beach squad had a record of 12-17 overall this past season.
