The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team put together one of its best efforts of the year on a special night inside Hart Gymnasium.
The Lasers celebrated their sophomores in the final home contest of the regular season and then swept Cypress, 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.
It was IVC's third sweep of the season and improved their record to 6-14 overall and 6-6 in the Orange Empire Conference.
Cypress went to 11-11 overall and 8-4 in conference play.
The Lasers and first-year coach Alissa Blevins celebrated sophomores Audrey Fowler, Kayla Torres, Alya Mersin, Nikki Korneff and Jayva Andersen along with their family and friends.
And then Irvine Valley proceeded to play a spectacular match.
The Lasers fought and won key points in the first two sets and then pulled away from the Chargers in the third and final set.
Irvine Valley took a 22-18 in the third set.
Cypress won three points in a row to pull within 22-21.
But the Lasers got a roll shot from freshman opposite Hailey Oldham for a point to make it 23-21.
Mersin came through with a block for a point to move IVC within match point.
And after Cypress hit a ball into the antenna, the Lasers could celebrate.
Fowler and Oldham led Irvine Valley with nine kills apiece. Fowler added 17 digs and two blocks and Oldham had 13 digs and four aces.
Korneff chipped in 14 digs and freshman setter Alondra Castro ran the offense with 26 digs and added 14 dig.
Irvine Valley plays its final four matches of the regular season on the road, starting with a match next Wednesday at Santa Ana at 6 p.m.
