The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team is back home again and takes on MiraCosta on Wednesday night at home.
MiraCosta has a record of 1-4 overall so far in the 2024 season.
The Spartans dropped their last match to College of the Canyons, 25-12, 25-21, 25-19.
MiraCosta was led by Daysha Halbert with nine kills, Megan Jo Martin with 17 assists and Ellie Perez with 12 digs.
On the year, Tori Tingum is averaging 1.33 kills per set, Martin averages 7.83 assists per set and Alexis Jones averages 3.06 digs per set for MiraCosta.
Irvine Valley is playing its second home match of the season
The Lasers have a record of 0-6 overall.
Irvine Valley competed in the Santa Barbara City Quad last Friday.
Irvine Valley started the day with a 25-22, 25-20, 25-27, 25-3 defeat to Bakersfield.
The Lasers played even better against Santa Barbara City, but were on the short end of a 25-23, 23-35, 22-25, 25-17, 15-11 loss to the Vaqueros.
Against Bakersfield, sophomore outside hitter Audrey Fowler and freshman opposite Hailey Oldham each ended with 14 kills for the Lasers.
Fowler also added 13 digs and Oldham had 17 digs.
Freshman setter Emmi Scelzo ran the offense with 42 assists and added nine digs and two aces.
Freshman libero Kayla Torres contributed 26 digs for the Lasers.
In the match with SBCC, Oldham finished with 14 kills.
Fowler added 11 kills and Scelzo contributed 33 assists.
Torres chipped in 21 digs.
Irvine Valley plays again at home Friday against Pasadena City at 5 p.m.
