Women's volleyball team wins second straight, beats Santa Ana

The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team went on the road and defeated Santa Ana, 25-16, 25-17, 25-15, in an Orange Empire Conference match Wednesday night.

IVC had three players with at least eight kills in the contest and hit .284 percent overall as a team.

Freshman opposite Hailey Oldham led the Lasers with nine kills, six digs and five aces.

Sophomore outside hitter Audrey Fowler added nine kills and 10 digs and sophomore outside hitter Alya Mersin had eight kills and hit .353.

Sophomore libero Nikki Korneff chipped in 12 digs and freshman setter Alondra Castro ran the offense with 35 assists and contributed and seven digs for the Lasers

Irvine Valley plays again on Friday in a conference match at Saddleback.
