Five Irvine Valley men's volleyball players named all-region

Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team recently had five players honored as all-region by the Southern California Men's Volleyball Conference.

Irvine Valley finished its season in the spring of 2025 with a record of 15-8 overall.

Making first team all-Southern Region was freshman outside hitter Travis Kaufman.

IVC players on the second team included freshman libero Cage Gonzalez and freshman setter Bryce Nohava.

And earning honorable mention accolades were freshman middle blocker Joshua Damianopoulos and freshman outside hitter Spencer York.

Kaufman averaged 2.39 kills per set and led the squad with 184 kills overall.

Gonzalez paced the team at 2.37 digs per set and finished with 180 digs on the season.

Nohava averaged 8.76 assists per set and ended with 596 assists overall.

Damianopoulos had a soid freshman year with 0.74 blocks per set and chipped in 101 kills and York was second on the team in kils (139) and second in kills per set at 2.48 for the Lasers.

San Diego Mesa sophomore opposite Trevor Clark and Moorpark sophomore outside hitter Jacob Knudsen were named most valuable players of the South and North regions, respectively.
