Former Irvine Valley standout men's volleyball player Trevor Weinert had another strong season at Benedectine Mesa University in Arizona.
Weinert was named to the Golden State Athletic Conference all-conference team after helping lead the NAIA Redhawks to a 18-7 record overall and a 7-3 mark in conference play.
The 6-5 senior outside hitter/middle blocker Weinert made his mark as one of the most efficient attackers in the GSAC.
He led he Redhawks with a stellar .415 hitting percentage, ranking him second in the conference.
Weinert finished with 150 kills on the year.
In addition to his offensive efficiency, Weinert was a key presence at the net defensively, recording 74 total blocks—good for third overall in the GSAC.
The team reached the NAIA National Tournament for the second year in a row.
As a junior in 2024 at Benedictine, he made significant contributions with 131 kills, earning hime honorable mention on the all-conference team.
He was also placed on the all-academic team.
Weinert also helped lift Benedictine to a record of 27-4 record overall and a 12-0 mark to win a conference title in 2023.
And the Redhawks reached the NAIA National Championship title match.
He was named first team all-Orange Conference for the Lasers after the 2022 season.
Irvine Valley went 17-5 overall and made the CCCAA state semifinals.
Weinert was second in the conference in blocks per set at 1.00, hit .497 and averaged 1.51 kills per set.
