Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team swept its second straight opponent to start the season.
The Lasers went to Antelope Valley and earned a comfortable 25-18, 25-9, 25-18 victory at Antelope Valley on Friday night.
Irvine Valley went to 2-0 on the season and is expected to be one of the top-ranked teams in the state when the poll comes out this week.
The Lasers had a great offense once again. Irvine Valley hit .479 as a team and were led by freshman outside hitter Tucker McClain, who ended with 11 kills.
He had those 11 kills in 14 attempts with no errors for a .786 hitting percentage.
The Lasers received assists from multiple players. Sophomore setter Ian Nelson led with nine assists, freshman setter Anthony Diosdado had seven assists and freshman setter Sam Zive contributed six assists.
Nelson also chipped in five digs for IVC.
Irvine Valley plays again on Wednesday, hosting Santa Barbara at 1 p.m.
The early start time is due to IVC hosting doubleheader men's and women's Orange Empire Conference basketball games at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
