Irvine Valley captured its fourth straight win on Friday afternoon at Ventura, 14-8.
The Lasers jumped out to a big lead, scoring nine runs in the first four innings and led, 9-7, going into the fifth inning.
IVC relief pitchers did their job and the Lasers were ahead, 9-8, after eight innings.
Irvine Valley put the game away with five more runs in the top of the ninth inning.
IVC improved its overall record to 4-1 overall.
The Lasers ended with 13 hits, earned nine walks and stole seven bases on the day.
Sophomore designated hitter Shaun McCaghren went 3 for 3 with two runs, two walks, two RBI and a stolen base to lead IVC's offensive attack.
Sophomore second baseman Chase Quezada had three RBI on a hit, two runs, and three stolen bases.
IVC freshman shortstop Jake Amundson continued to shine with three more hits, one RBI and two stolen bases.
And sophomore catcher Aaron Serrato went 3 for 5 with two runs scored and three RBI.
Irvine Valley's sophomore right-hander Zack Marker started on the mound and picked up the win.
He went six innings and gave up seven runs (six earned) with one walk and three strikeouts.
Sophomore righty Jackson Chastain went the next 2.1 innings and allowed one run.
Sophomore Tyler Eastham finished the win out. He threw 2.2 shutout innings and struck out five Pirate batters.
Eastham also picked up a save.
Irvine Valley hosts Ventura next Tuesday at 2 p.m.
