The Irvine Valley baseball team bounces back from a loss at LA Valley on Tuesday with a solid 10-3 win Thursday at home.
The Lasers received a super solid effort on the mound from sophomore right-hander AJ Roettger in the victory. He improved his record to 3-0 on the season.
Roettger went seven innings, allowing only three runs on eight hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.
It was IVC's 10th victory of the season and moved the squad's record to 10-5 overall. LA Valley went to 4-9 overall.
Sophomore second baseman Chase Quezada, freshman center fielder and sophomore catcher Aaron Serrato each finished with two hits at the plate.
Quezada had two doubles, scored two runs and added a RBI.
Sophomore first baseman Jackson Snitko contributed two RBI for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley busted the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning with eight runs to take a 10-1 lead.
The Lasers scored the eight runs on five hits and two Monarch errors along with a LA Valley wild pitch.
Snitko, Tucci and freshman designated hitter Conn0r Gomez each had doubles in the frame for the Lasers.
Sophomore righty Zack Marker closed out the game, throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts.
The Lasers play again on Saturday, hosting a doubleheader against LA Mission.
Games will be nine and then seven innings with the first contest starting at noon.
