Irvine Valley's baseball team fell at LA Harbor, 6-5, in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday, but responded on Wednesday at home with a 4-2 win over the Seahawks.
IVC improved its record to 13-12 overall.
The Lasers are back in Orange Empire Conference play next Tuesday with a home game against Saddleback at 2 p.m.
On Tuesday, IVC got a solid start on the mound from sophomore right-hander Tyler Eastham. He went six innings and gave up two runs on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts.
Irvine Valley led, 5-4, going into the bottom of the ninth, but LA Harbor scored two runs for the win. The last of the runs coming on an IVC error.
At the plate, freshman left fielder Cole Lefebvre stood out, going 3 for 5 with a home run, two runs scored and one RBI.
Sophomore first baseman Jackson Snitko also had two hits, walked once and scored a run.
Sophomore designated hitter Zack Marker and freshman shortstop Andres Hernandez also drove in runs for IVC.
The Lasers relied on strong pitching performances in the 4-2 rebound win on Wednesday at home.
Sophomore right-hander AJ Roettger went seven strong innings and sophomore lefty Jackson Chastain closed things out for IVC.
Roettger improved his record to 4-2. He went seven innings, allowing just one hit and two runs with three walks and two strikeouts.
Chastain picked up his second save of the year after pitching two scoreless innings. He gave up just one hit and struck out three.
Irvine Valley finished with 13 hits.
The Lasers scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. IVC scored a run on a passed ball to take the lead and then got RBI hits by freshman center fielder Sam Tucci, Snitko and sophomore third baseman Shaun McCaghren.
Snitko went 3 for 4 with a run scored and one RBI to lead the way. Sophomore catcher Aaron Serrato, McCaghren and sophomore second baseman Chase Quezada also added two hits apiece for IVC.
