The Irvine Valley baseball team captured its second straight victory on the road.
Irvine Valley went to West Los Angeles and earned a 10-2 victory to improve their record to 2-1 on the season.
The Lasers finish with 10 hits and 12 walks and got a strong start on the mound from sophomore right-hander AJ Roettger in the win.
IVC led, 3-0, through five innings, 8-0, through the top of the sixth, before scoring five more runs in the top of the eighth inning to close out the victory.
Freshman shortstop Jake Amundson led the way at the plate for IVC. The former Woodbridge High standout went 3 for 4 with a double, triple two runs scored and four RBI.
He cleared the bases with a triple in the top of the sixth to help give Irvine Valley a 7-0 lead. Amundson is now hitting .533 through three games.
Sophomore center fielder Kade Murray followed with a RBI single to make it 8-0 for the Lasers.
Murray ended the day going 3 for 5 with three runs scored and one RBI. He is hitting .429.
Irvine Valley lead-off hitter Chase Quezada also had a solid game. He went 1 for 2 with two walks, two runs scored and one RBI.
Quezada is hitting .500 on the year.
Sophomore first baseman Jackson Snitko walked four times and scored a run for the Lasers and freshman right fielder Sam Tucci drove in two runs, scored a run and walked.
Freshman catcher Shane Flynn also had a hit and two RBI for the Lasers.
On the mound, Roettger went 5.1 scoreless innings. He allowed three hits, but didn't walk a batter and ended with seven strikeouts.
Roettger only had to face 18 batters.
Irvine Valley is back on the road on Wednesday, playing at Compton at 2 p.m.
