Women's volleyball team goes on the road, wins sixth in a row

The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team rolled Santiago Canyon on the road Wednesday night on the road.

The Lasers, ranked No. 7 in the state, won, 25-13, 25-15, 25-11.

It was the Lasers' sixth win in a row and 10th sweep of the season.

Irvine Valley moved its record to 12-2 overall and 6-1 in the OEC.

IVC hit an impressive .439 as a team on the night.

Sophomore outside hitter Tessa Marocco finished with 12 kills and had nine digs for the Lasers.

Sophomore opposite Ava Guenther ended with nine kills, sophomore outside hitter Olivia Ortega had seven kills and sophomore middle blocker Natalia Brandlin had six kills in nine attempts and had a solo block.

Sophomore setter Mia Bertolone (IVC's athlete of the week), finished with 33 assists and had two aces and five digs.

Freshman libero Audrey Fowler contributed 12 digs and three aces for the Lasers in the win.

Irvine Valley is back in action in a conference match at Riverside.
