Irvine Valley women's indoor all-state player and beach standout Tessa Marocco has committed to play beach volleyball at NCAA Division I University of Hawaii in the fall.

Marocco helped lead the IVC indoor team to a share of the Orange Empire Conference title and make the 3C2A State Championship tournament in the fall of 2023.

Irvine Valley claimed its second consecutive OEC Championship and fifth in six years with head coach Anna Unke leading the way in her first season at the helm for the Lasers in 2023.

Marocco, out of Mater Dei High, was fourth in the OEC in kills per set at 3.49 and second in total kills with 311.

She also led the conference in aces per set at 0.65. Marocco was named first team all-Orange Empire Conference, all-region and all-state this past fall.

In beach, she helped lead IVC to a second-place finish in conference play and to a So. Cal. Regional final. Marocco wasd named all-conference along with partner Angie Griego.

This year, she is playing in the No. 1 pairs spot with Kenzie Dews this season for the Lasers. 

Irvine Valley is off to a 9-0 start in conference play in the 2024 season.
