Men's basketball plays final regular season home game Friday

Irvine Valley's men's basketball team plays its final home game of the regular season against Orange Coast at 6 p.m. The Lasers (12-12) are coming off of an impressive performance against Riverside in a 76-49 victory on Wednesday.

The Lasers, tied for fourth in the Orange Empire Conference, play at Saddleback next Tuesday and then get ready for the first Orange Empire Conference Tournament next Thursday.

The top four teams will host the first round.

Irvine Valley Riverside for the second time by a big margin Wednesday night at home.

After beating the Tigers by 37 points on the road last month. IVC came away with a 76-49 victory.

The Lasers moved their record to 13-12 in conference and 5-7 in the OEC.

Freshman forward Matt Mowers led the way with 16 points, three assists and two blocks. He shot 7 of 10 from the field.

Freshman point guard Allen Moser added 15 points and five rebounds and freshman wing Yanis Aldeguer had 12 points and three rebounds.

Freshman guard Jackson Jennings came off the bench with nine points, five rebounds and two blocks.

On the year, Mowers is averaging 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, Aldeguer averages 9.6 points, sophomore guard Ammon Allan averages 9.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists, sophomore forward Josiah Reed is averaging 7.5 points and 4.8 rebounds and Moser averages 9.0 points and 2.7 assists per game for Irvine Valley.

Orange Coast has a record of 5-20 overall and 1-11 in the Orange Empire Conference.

OCC lost at home against Santiago Canyon, 106-82, on Wednesday.

Ronnie Davis scored a game-high 33 points for the Pirates. He went 10 of 17 from the field, 4 of 8 from beyond the arc and made 9 of 11 free throws.

Davis also added four steals, three assists, four steals and two blocks.

Chris Obiajulu added 13 points and six rebounds, Sawyer Clemett had 12 points and Jay Fromm chipped in 11 points for OCC.

On the year, Davis is averaging 18.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals, Obiajulu averages 10.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals, Julian Daaboul averages 9.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.4 steals and Clemett is averaging 7.5 points per game for the Pirates.
