October 06, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Oct. 6 is sophomore men's soccer player Isaac Nixon. The standout forward scored three goals in IVC's 4-1 victory over Orange Coast last Tuesday at home and then added an assist on the Lasers' first goal in a big 5-3 win at Saddleback last Friday. -
Ashley Reina, Women's Soccer
September 29, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Sept. 29 is sophomore women's soccer player Ashley Reina. The defender and midfielder scored Irvine Valley's first goal in a 3-0 victory over East LA at home last Friday. She has started each match for the 6-1 Lasers and been a consistent contributer all season. -
Dalilah Rivero, women's volleyball
September 22, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Sept. 22 is freshman women's volleyball player Dalilah Rivero. The setter and outside hitter from Sunny Hills High finished with eight kills, hit .400 and added 10 assists, four aces and three digs in IVC's conference sweep at Santiago Canyon last Wednesday. -
September 17, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Sept. 15 is sophomore men's soccer forward Armin Tehrani. He had quite a week in helping IVC to its first two wins of the 2025 season. Tehrani started both matches and finished with two goals and one assist for the Lasers, who moved their record to 2-4. He had one goal and one assist in a 6-0 win over Mesa Friday. The Lasers are at Rio Hondo this Friday.

September 01, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Sept. 1 is sophomore women's soccer payer Kuuipo Laumatia. The standout forward has scored four goals and has two assists through two matches so far this year as IVC has outscored its two opponents, 17-1, overall. IVC has a record of 2-0. -
Nick Grove, Men's Tennis
April 28, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Apr. 28 is sophomore men's tennis player Nick Grove. The star No. 1 Laser player captured three 3C2A titles last week in Ventura and Ojai. One with the team, one in singles and then finished the weekend at Libbey Park with a doubles crown with Luciano Pardo. -
Akayla Chaple, Flag football
April 21, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Apr. 21 is freshman flag football player Akayla Chaple. The star quarterback passed for two touchdowns in IVC's 13-7 win over the Saddleback Bobcats last Friday at home. The Lasers improved their record on the season to 10-3 overall. -
Spencer York, Men's Volleyball
April 14, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Apr. 14 is freshman men's volleyball player Spencer York. The standout outside hitter helped lead IVC to two solid efforts last week. The Lasers pushed No. 1 Orange Coast to five sets before falling and then he starred in Irvine Valley's sweep of Santiago Canyon Friday at home. -
Audrey Fowler/Avery Bennett, Women's Beach Volleyball
April 07, 2025Irvine Valley's athletes of the week for Apr. 7 are sophomore women's beach volleyball players Audrey Fowler and Avery Bennett. The duo remained undefeated in Orange Empire Conference play with two more victories. -
Bryce Nohava, Men's Volleyball
March 31, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Mar. 31 is freshman men's volleyball player Bryce Nohava. The star setter helped lead the Lasers to two wins last week as IVC improved its record to 13-5 overall and 7-3 in divisional play. Nohava had 40 assists in IVC's five-set upset win at San Diego Mesa last Wednesday. -
AJ Roettger, Baseball
March 24, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Mar. 24 is sophomore baseball player AJ Roettger. The right-handed pitcher had an outstanding start last Wednesday at home in picking up a win over LA Harbor. Roettger went seven innings and allowed just two runs on one hit with two strikeouts. He went to 4-2 on the year. -
Travis Kaufman, Men's Volleyball
March 10, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Mar. 10 is freshman men's volleyball player Travis Kaufman. The opposite hitter helped lead the Lasers, ranked No. 6 in the state, to two wins last week. Kaufman finished with 18 kills and seven digs in a four-set win at Miramar on Wednesday and then had nine kills and four aces as IVC swept Grossmont at home Friday. -
Jackson Chastain, Baseball
March 31, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Mar. 3 is sophomore baseball player Jackson Chastain. The left-handed pitcher started the first game of IVC's doubleheader with LA Mission on Saturday and threw seven impressive innings, giving up two runs (just one earned) to earn his second win of the season as the Lasers defeated Mission, 8-2. IVC swept the doubleheader and went to 12-5 overall. -
Jake Amundson, Baseball
February 24, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Feb. 24 is freshman baseball player Jake Amundson. The standout shortstop out of Woodbridge High had quite a week, going 8 for 13 at the plate in two IVC wins. He also added eight RBI, including seven in the Lasers' 17-12 win at San Diego Mesa on Tuesday afternoon. -
Samantha Barnett, Women's Basketball
February 17, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Feb. 17 is freshman women's basketball player Samantha Barnett. The star guard had her highest scoring game of the season last Thursday night with 27 points as the Lasers defeated Saddleback, 72-44, at home in Orange Empire Conference action. -
Josiah Reed, Men's basketball
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Feb. 10 is sophomore men's basketball player Josiah Reed. It is his second AOTW of the season. Reed helped lead the Lasers to another important win last Friday night at home. He had 20 points, five rebounds and four assists as Irvine Valley defeated Orange Coast, 83-63. -
Kivonni Williams, Women's Basketball
February 03, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Feb. 3 is women's basketball player Kivonni Williams. The freshman forward had her best game of the season last Friday as IVC defeated Santa Ana, 73-53. She finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. Irvine Valley improved its record to 12-11 overall and 4-3 in the OEC. -
Allen Moser, Men's Baskertball
January 27, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Jan. 27 is freshman men's basketball player Allen Moser. The point guard led the Lasers with 16 points in a 20-point win over Cypress last Friday night at home. Moser, out of St. John Bosco High, is averaging 8.0 points and 3.0 assists per game on the season for IVC. -
Samantha Barnett, Women's Basketball
January 20, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Jan. 20 is freshman women's basketball player Samantha Barnett. She helped lead the Lasers to a 65-48 win over Riverside in an Orange Empire Conference game last Wednesday. Barnett scored 14 points, had six rebounds, three assists and three steals in the victory. -
Matt Mowers, Men's Basketball
January 13, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Jan. 13 is freshman men's basketball player Matt Mowers. The standout post player finished with a game-high 27 points as the Lasers scored their biggest win of the season on Friday night. IVC topped Riverside, 92-55, in a conference game on the road. -
Alexis Price, Women's Basketball
January 06, 2025Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Jan. 6 is freshman women's basketball player Alexis Price. The 6-0 forward helped lead the Lasers to their best win of the season last Friday night. Price scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds as IVC upset San Diego Mesa, 46-45, at home. This is the second time Price has been named athlete of the week this season. -
Moka Saiki, Women's Basketball
December 23, 2024Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Dec. 23 is sophomore women's basketball player Moka Saiki. The star shooting guard scored 25 points as IVC defeated Allan Hancock, 74-47, in the Ventura Crossover last Friday. Saiki is averaging 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game on the season. -
Neryah Lokeni, Women's Basketball
December 16, 2024Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Dec. 16 is freshman women's basketball player Neryah Lokeni. She kept Irvine Valley in the game against No. 9 in the state Glendale last Friday with 20 points and seven rebounds. IVC played strong in the second half before falling, 60-47. Lokeni is averaging 11.6 points on the year. -
Yanis Aldeguer, Men's Basketball
December 09, 2024Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Dec. 9 is freshman men's basketball player Yanis Aldeguer. The shooting guard led the Lasers with 24 points on Saturday as IVC rallied to defeat Foothill, 86-81, in the consolation final of the Monterey Bay Classic. Aldeguer is averaging 10.0 per game for the Lasers. -
Parker Tuttle, Men's Basketball
December 02, 2024Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Dec. 2 is sophomore men's basketball player Parker Tuttle. The wing player finished with 19 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field and making 4 of 8 from the three-point line in IVC's 79-48 win over El Camino at home on Wednesday. -

November 25, 2024Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Nov. 25 is sophomore men's basketball player Josiah Reed. The standout forward had his best game of the year in one of IVC's top performances of the season. Reed finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds as the Lasers beat Southwestern, 73-48, last Wednesday at home. -
Haruka Mikuma, Women's Basketball
November 18, 2024Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Nov. 18 is sophomore women's basketball player Haruka Mikuma. The star point guard finished with 14 points, six assists and five steals as the Lasers defeated El Camino at home last Friday at home. Mikuma is in here second year as the starting point guard for Irvine Valley. She averaged 5.0 points and 3.8 assists per game for the Lasers last season. -
Alexis Price, Women's Basketball
November 11, 2024Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Nov. 11 is freshman women's basketball player Alexis Price. The forward helped Irvine Valley win two of three games last weekend at the West LA Shootout event at West Los Angeles. She had double-doubles in games against Ventura and Taft. IVC moved its record to 2-2 overall. -
Ammon Allan, Men's Basketball
November 04, 2024Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Nov. 4 is sophomore men's basketball player Ammon Allan. The starting combo guard had 19 points and six assists as IVC opened its season with a 84-63 win over College of the Desert Friday at home. Allan shot 8 of 13 from the field and also made two three-pointers. -
Luke Newman, Men's Soccer
October 28, 2024Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Oct. 28 is freshman men's soccer player Luke Newman. The midfielder was also named the Orange Empire Conference athlete of the week. He helped lead IVC to a split on the week, scoring the winning goal against Golden West and then finding the net again vs. Saddleback.
