
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Feb. 10 is sophomore men's basketball player Josiah Reed.
It is his second AOTW of the 2024-25 season.
Reed helped lead the Lasers to another important win last Friday night at home.
He scored a season-high 20 points, grabbed five rebounds and added four assists as Irvine Valley defeated Orange Coast, 83-63, in an Orange Empire Conference game.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 14-12 overall and 6-7 in conference play.
The Lasers sit in fourth place alone in the OEC with one game to play in the regular season. IVC is at Saddleback on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Reed was perfect from the field last Friday, making all nine of his shots, his one three-pointer and his one free throw.
The forward also added five rebounds and four assists.
As a team, Irvine Valley shot 57.9 percent from the field as a team.
On the year, Reed is averaging 8.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game for the Lasers.
He has scored in double figures in nine games this season.
