Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Nov. 18 is sophomore women's basketball player Haruka Mikuma.
The star point guard finished with 14 points, six assists and five steals as the Lasers defeated El Camino at home last Friday at home.
Mikuma is in here second year as the starting point guard for Irvine Valley.
She averaged 5.0 points and 3.8 assists per game for the Lasers last season.
So far this year, Mikuma is averaging 8.1 points, 2.6 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.
She has scored in double figures in three games with the 14 points against El Camino being a season high.
Mikuma is shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from three-point range for Irvine Valley.
The Lasers, who have a record of 3-3 overall, play again next Wednesday at Rio Hondo.
