Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Apr. 21 is freshman flag football player Akayla Chaple.
The star quarterback threw two touchdowns in IVC's 13-7 win over Saddleback last Friday at home.
The Lasers improved their record to 10-3 on the season.
Irvine Valley has now defeated Saddleback in three of four games on the year.
"She is one of the most dedicated athletes that I have ever coached," IVC flag football coach Sami Logan said. "She is always watching film, asking questions, and putting in extra work to improve her game.
"Her leadership and commitment to the team has been a huge part of our success so far."
Irvine Valley plays again next Friday at Saddleback at 2 p.m.
