Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Dec. 9 is freshman men's basketball player Yanis Aldeguer.
The standout shooting guard led the Lasers with 24 points on Saturday as IVC rallied to defeat Foothill, 86-81, to win the consolation final in the Monterey Bay Classic at Monterey Peninsula.
It was a season-high tota for Adeguer. Even more impressive is that he made all seven of his three-pointers in the game.
Aldeguer is averaging 10.0 per game for the Lasers.
He has played in all 11 games and has scored in double figures in six contests.
Aldeguer, out of Fairmont Prep, is also averaging 1.3 assists and 0.9 steals for the Lasers.
