The Irvine Valley men's soccer team finished its 2022 regular season on Tuesday at home.

In not ideal conditions for both sides with rain pouring most of the second half, the Lasers fell to Fullerton, 2-0.

With the win, the Hornets clinched the Orange Empire Conference title.

Fullerton moved its record to 12-4-4 overall and 8-1-2 in the conference. Irvine Valley fell to 10-6-5 overall and 5-3-4 overall.

The Lasers slipped from second to fourth in the conference standings with the defeat.

Fullerton scored a goal in each half for the victory.

Angel Sevillano found the back of the net in the 40th minute off a ball sent in on a corner kick.

And then Misael Gonzalez put the game away with a goal in the 70th minute.

Irvine Valley's best chance came on a shot late in the first half by freshman forward Christopher Camarena that was saved by Hornet keeper Jose Estrada.

IVC keeper Tygo Steenvoorden ended with three saves.

The Lasers now await to see what happens with the So. Cal. regional pairings that will be announced early next week.
