The Irvine Valley men's soccer team scored seven goals in its second-straight victory on Tuesday afternoon at home.

The rainy weather in Orange County didn't affect the Lasers, who scored early and often, and put up six goals in the first half on their way to a 7-2 win over Southwestern.

It was the most goals Irvine Valley has scored in a match since 2018 when it defeated Cypress, 8-1, in an Orange Empire Conference contest.

Irvine Valley had a 3-0 lead 14 minutes into the contest on Friday with three impressive goals.

It started with sophomore defender Diego Llergo heading in a goal off an assist from freshman forward Grant Miller in the fifth minute.

Irvine Valley made it a 2-0 game six minutes later when sophomore defender Steven Osuna headed in a goal off of a corner by sophomore midfielder Julian Svoboda.

And two minutes later, Irvine Valley was at it again. Svoboda sent a ball through on a counter and freshman defender Lennart Granzow finished.

The Lasers went ahead, 4-0, in the 30th minute on a goal by Miller off an assist from freshman midfielder Anthony Ocampo.

It was 5-0 soon after as freshman midfielder Lukas Stark shook two defenders and hammered a shot to the lower left-hand corner and in.

Freshman forward Christopher Camarena scored off a pass from Jefreyn Contreras in the 43rd minute to put Irvine Valley ahead, 6-0, at the end of the first half.

Freshman keeper Tygo Steenvoorden played the first half and had to make just one save.

Sophomore goalie Sean Salah came in for the second half and also made one save.

Irvine Valley scored its final goal in the 60th minute when Osuna tapped a shot in off an assist from freshman defender Diego Ralon.

The Lasers (2-3 overall) are on the road for two matches next week. They play at LA Harbor on Tuesday at 2 p.m. and then at San Diego Mesa on Friday at 2 p.m.
