After beating MiraCosta on the road last Friday, Irvine Valley's men's basketball team traveled back to San Diego Tuesday night.

IVC trailed at Southwestern for much of the game, including by double digits with under five minutes to play, but the Lasers clawed back and won the contest in the final minute.

Irvine Valley came away with a 54-52 triumph after sophomore forward Josh Walker's three-point play with 22 seconds left.

Down, 52-51, sophomore guard Luc Krystkowiak drove to the basket, but was bottled up. He ended up finding Walker, who laid the ball in and was fouled.

Walker sank the free throw and IVC had a 54-52 lead. Southwestern had one more chance, but Irvine Valley did a good job on defense and Southwestern missed a three-pointer as time expired.

The win improved the Lasers' record to 3-3 overall.

Krystkowiak led the way with 16 points. Sophomore guard Aaron Strings added seven points and freshman guard Brian Mendoza and freshman guard Gavin O'Neill each contributed six points for the Lasers.

Irvine Valley plays again next Thursday at against Feather River in the Monterey Peninsula Tournament.
