Irvine Valley athletics is excited to start to announce schedules for the 2021 fall season with women's and men's soccer and women's volleyball, as well as the 2021-22 winter seasons with women's and men's basketball.
The Irvine Valley men's basketball team will start its 2021-22 season with some scrimmages at the Southern California Fall JUCO Jamboree at Santiago Canyon College Sept. 17-19. Games and times will be determined.
The Lasers are slated to play its first game of the season at Cuyamaca College on Nov. 2 at 5 p.m.
Irvine Valley will then host Ventura on Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. to start its annual Irvine Valley Classic Crossover event. The four-team tournament will conclude with games on Nov. 12.
IVC plays seven single non-conference games, hosts its IVC Classic and will travel to the Monterey Peninsula Tournament Dec. 2-4.
Irvine Valley begins Orange Empire Conference play at Fullerton on Friday, Dec. 17 at 5 p.m.
The Lasers' first OEC game at home will be on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 at 5 p.m.
Irvine Valley has home conference games on Jan. 10 (vs. Riverside), Jan. 14 (vs. Cypress), Jan. 21 (vs. Santiago Canyon), Jan. 26 (vs. Fullerton), Jan. 28 (vs. Golden West), Feb. 8 (vs. Orange Coast) and Feb. 16 (vs. Saddleback).
Irvine Valley is led by Jerry Hernandez, who completed his 24th season during the 2019-20 season (IVC didn't have a season in 2020-21) and has helped more than 100 players move on to four-year colleges or universities.
The Lasers are expected to return several standout players from the 2019-20 season this coming season, including guards Aaron Strings, JT Robinson, Devin Owens and post player Josh Walker.
