Irvine Valley standout sophomore men's soccer player Jacob Edwards has commited to NCAA Division II Concordia University in Irvine.
Edwards, who has been a two-year starter for the Lasers, helped lead IVC to a 12-4-6 record overall this past season and a trip to the So. Cal. playoffs.
Irvine Valley finished second in the Orange Empire Conference with a mark of 7-1-6.
Edwards started in 18 matches and finished with one goal and two assists, while playing all over the field and being steady in the midfield for IVC.
He earned second-team, all-conference honors in 2023.
In the 2022 season for IVC, Edwards played in 21 matches and started 18 contests.
He finished with five goals and had five assists for 15 points for an IVC team that had a record of 11-7-5 overall and reached the second round of the playoffs.
Edwards is headed to a Concordia squad that competes in the PacWest Conference and had a record of 6-9 this past season.
