The Irvine Valley men's soccer team, ranked No. 14 in the state, has another key Orange Empire Conference contest Tuesday.
The Lasers play at No. 11 Santa Ana at 3 p.m. in one of the top matches in So. Cal.
Irvine Valley has a record of 6-2-3 overall, but sits in fourth place in the conference standings at 1-0-3.
Santa Ana is 6-3-2 overall and a spot ahead of the Lasers at 2-1-1 in conference.
The Lasers tied Fullerton in a dramatic comeback at 3-3 last Tuesday on the road and then had a draw with Santiago Canyon at home, 1-1, last Friday.
Irvine Valley trailed, 3-0, at Fullerton before rallying for the tie. On Friday, IVC had plenty of chances to pull away, but had to settle for a draw.
Santa Ana is coming off of a 2-1 win at Cypress last Friday afternoon with goals by Remy Barazin and Paul Carrillo.
IVC is led by sophomore midfielder Ivan Lopez, who is first in the conference in assists with eight, second in the conference in points with 22 and tied for third in goals with seven.
Lopez is tied with teammate and sophomore forward Grant Miller in goals in the conference.
Miller also has 15 points on the year.
Marck Rayo is fourth in the conference in points for the Dons with 19.
The Lasers are back at home again for a match on Friday against Saddleaback at 3 p.m.
Saddleback is in its first year as a program, but has a record of 4-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in conference.
