Grant Miller finishes to lift men's soccer to win on the road

The Irvine Valley men's soccer team pulled out a 3-2 Orange Empire Conference win on the road at Santiago Canyon Tuesday afternoon.

With the win, IVC, ranked No. 12 in the state, improved its record to 11-3-4 overall and 6-1-4 in conference.

The Lasers were in control on Tuesday, out-shooting Santiago Canyon, 15-9, with eight shots on goal.

Sophomore forward Grant Miller stood out again. He finished with two goals, including the game-winner in the 92nd minute.

Freshman forward Armon Haghighat added a goal and sopomore standtout defender Lennart Granzow and sophomore forward Ivan Lopez each finished with assists.

IVC freshman keeper Josh Simonton made three saves in the contest.

The Lasers took a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute off of an unassisted goal by Miller.

Irvine Valley took a 2-0 advantage when Granzow assisted Haghighat for a goal in the 55th minute.

The Hawks came back with goals by Hudson Dare and Nick Asam to tie the score in the 79th minute.

Miller finished things for the Lasers. He scored with a header off of perfectly placed set piece from Lopez in extra time.

Irvine Valley plays again on Friday at home in a key conference match against Santa Ana.
