Men's basketball team drops last regular season game of 2024

Irvine Valley had trouble scoring in the second half and lost to Cypress, 46-43, in its regular season finale at home on Friday on Homecoming Night with a number of former Laser standouts at the contest.

IVC still finished in a tie for third place in the Orange Empire Conference. 

The Lasers finished with a record of 17-11 overall and 8-8 in the OEC.

Irvine Valley struggled in the second half, scoring just 14 points.

IVC shot 31.4 percent (16 of 51) as a team for the game.

The Lasers led, 29-24, at the half, but the Chargers outscored the Lasers, 22-14, in the second half.

Sophomore post player Jesse Stines had nine points and nine rebounds and sophomore guard Luke Farrington added nine points. Sophomore guard David Ogunlade and sophomore guard Roman Swizek each added eight points for the Lasers.

Irvine Valley will find out its playoff chances and opponent on Monday.
