After not having a home match for two weeks, the Irvine Valley women's volleyball team is finally back in Hart Gymnasium Wednesday night.
Irvine Valley, ranked No. 1 in the state and tops in the Orange Empire Conference, hosts Orange Coast, which sits in second in the OEC, at 6 p.m.
IVC has a record of 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the OEC.
Irvine Valley swept Santiago Canyon on the road last Wednesday and then beat Riverside in four sets on the road last Friday in conference matches.
In Friday's 25-12, 25-21, 23-25, 25-18 win at RCC, sophomore outside hitter Lea Kruse had 16 kills and 15 digs to lead the Lasers.
Sophomore middle blocker Alyssa Vortouni added 13 kills, sophomore outside hitter Gabriela Griego Finished with 10 kills, freshman middle blocker Kristin Austin had nine kills, sophomore liebero Renata Bath chipped in 19 digs, freshman defensive specialist Alaina Gendale had 14 digs and three aces and freshman setter Truth Hafey ran the offense with 45 assists. She added seven digs.
IVC has won 37 straight matches dating back to 2016 and has dropped just one set this season.
Vortouni ranks fifth in the conference in kills per set at 3.29. Kruse is ninth at 2.88 kills per set and Griego is 11th at 2.81 per set.
Bath is fourth in the conference in digs per set at 3.68, Vortuni ranks second in hitting percentage at .371 with Kylie Miller third at .350 and Kruse fifth at .311.
Hafey leads the conference and is third in the state in assists per set at 11.26.
Orange Coast is off to a 15-1 overall record and 6-1 mark in the Orange Empire Conference for second place.
OCC's lone loss on the year came to Cypress in conference in five sets.
The Pirates are also ranked No. 20 in the state in this week's CCCWVCA poll.
OCC ranks tied for fourth in the state in wins.
The Pirates are coming off a 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 sweep over Santiago Canyon at home last Friday.
Lily Johnson led the way with 15 kills and a .636 hitting percentage. Raigan Ramos added five kills, Rylee Adair had 22 digs and four aces and Shannon Stone finished with 23 assists for the Pirates on the night.
Adair leads the conference in digs per set and ranks fourth in the state at 6.03. Johnson is fourth in the OEC in kills per set at 3.31 and leads in hitting percentage at .390.And Camryn Kaina is second in conference in assists per set at 9.66.
