Men's tennis team shuts out El Camino

Irvine Valley's men's tennis team bounced back from its first loss this season with an easy win on Tuesday at home against El Camino.

IVC shut out El Camino, 9-0.

The Lasers improved their record to 2-1 on the year.

Irvine Valley got wins in singles from sophomore Steven Le, freshman Max Rumeau, freshman Thomas Gibson, freshman Eduardo Salbego, freshman Saumaun Heiat and freshman Robert Sielemann.

Le defeated Britton Henriksen, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 1 singles.

Le, Rumeau, Salbego, Heiat and Sielemann each won in straight sets.

In doubles, the team of freshman Jack Divorty and Le defeated Whitney Reed and Henriksen, 8-3, at the No. 1 position.

Freshmen Guillermo Ucelay and Simon Guillin beat Anthony Ya and Calvin Hoo at No. 2 doubles.

And freshman Austin Do and Pham beat Chris Fisher and Christian Chauco, 8-4, at the No. 3 spot.

Irvine Valley plays again on Thursday when it travels to San Diego Mesa for a non-conference match.
