Irvine Valley men's tennis player Steven Le and women's volleyball player and sand volleyball player Becky Moodie were honored for their work on and off the court on Tuesday at a luncheon by the Irvine Exchange Club.
Moodie and Le were named the female and male scholar athletes for the year, respectively, last month and were featured by the exchange club on Tuesday at the Irvine Marriott.
Le finished second in singles this season at the Orange Empire Conference tournament and helped the Lasers to their best ever season. Irvine Valley won the conference title as a team, made the state final and finished as runner-up.
Moodie helped lead the IVC women's volleyball team to 24 straight wins, a OEC title and third place in the state.
She also was a key player on Irvine Valley's sand volleyball team, which won the state event.
Le is weighing offers from four-year schools, while Moodie is headed to Cal Baptist to continue her volleyball career.
