Basketball player Isaiah Milan commits to San Diego Christian

Irvine Valley freshman point guard Isaiah Milan has committed to San Diego Christian.

Milan will join the Hawks for the winter season.

In his one year at Irvine Valley, Milan started all 28 games and averaged 10.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He shot 44.6 percent from the field.

Milan ranked second on the team in points per game and led the team in assists and steals.

He scored in double figures in 14 games with a season-high of 22 points in an Irvine Valley win over Reedley in the Monterey Peninsula Tournament.

He also scored 21 points in an early-season IVC win at Cuyamaca.

Milan was named the MVP of Irvine Valley's own IVC Classic in November after leading the team to a 61-51 victory over Cerritos in the championship game.

He finished up his 2015-16 season with an 18-point, four-rebound, two-assist, two-block performance in Irvine Valley's victory over Santa Ana.

Irvine Valley ended the year with a record of 15-13 overall.

Milan went to high school in the San Diego area, attending Mission Bay. He averaged 20 points, four rebounds and three assists per game and was named all-league at Mission Bay he senior year.
