Irvine Valley sophomore baseball player Nate Madole is moving on to play at NAIA Vanguard University next spring.
Madole, a left-handed pitcher, has spent the last two years with the Lasers and played at Loyola Marymount before that.
The Huntington Beach High product finished the 2022 spring season with a record of 2-4 with one save. Madole appeared in 13 games and started nine contests. He threw 50 innings with 35 strikeouts.
Madole got better and better as the season went and finished out the IVC season on a strong note.
He pitched 7.1 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts in Irvine Valley's 5-3 win over Golden West in an Orange Empire Conference game at Cal State Fullerton's Goodwin Field on Apr. 29.
Irvine Valley ended the year with a record of 17-23 overall.
Madole is headed to a Vanguard program that has been rolling for the last several years. The team had a record of 44-15 overall and went 23-9 in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
The team also made the NAIA Opening Round.
