Irvine Valley's baseball team will play a rubber game of a Orange Empire Conference series with Fullerton after losing 7-2 on Thursday on the road.
IVC won the first game of the series, 2-1, over the Hornets at Cal State Fullerton's Goodwin Field on Tuesday.
The two teams will meet again at Goodwin Field on Saturday at 11 a.m. It is Irvine Valley's home game.
Fullerton put Thursday's game away with a big sixth inning. The Hornets scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 7-2 lead.
Irvine Valley freshman right-hander Ryan Barlow took the loss on the mound. He went five innings and gave up three runs on six hits and one walk with four strikeouts.
The Lasers scored both of their runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull within 3-2 before Fullerton had its big bottom of the sixth to put the game out of reach.
Freshman catcher Connor Tallakson had an RBI groundout and freshman first baseman Adrian Reveles followed with an RBI single up the middle in the top of the sixth.
On the day, Reveles, freshman left fielder Noah Madole and freshman designated hitter Casey Kudell had two hits apiece. One of Madole's hits was a double.
Dominic Martinez paced Fullerton, going 4 for 4 at the plate with a triple and two RBI.
Irvine Valley's record went to 13-9 overall and 2-3 in conference, while Fullerton improved to 15-9 overall and 3-2 in conference.
