After dropping its last two Orange Empire Conference matches, the Irvine Valley women's volleyball team got back on track Friday night at Santa Ana.
The Lasers, ranked No. 19 in the state, earned their fourth sweep of the season and first in conference play with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-12 win.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in conference and Santa Ana went to 5-8 overall and 0-6 in conference.
Irvine Valley sits tied for third in the OEC standings with district rival Saddleback at 4-2.
The two teams meet next Wednesday at IVC at 6 p.m. Fans are welcome with social distancing and masks are required.
On Friday at Santa Ana, the Lasers hit .274 as a team, led by freshman middle blocker Kendall Fraser and freshman opposite Jayli Nealy.
Fraser hit .400 on the night with 10 kills and Nealy hit .350 with 11 kills and five digs.
IVC freshman outside hitter Jaclyn Sanchez added six kills and eight digs and freshman outside hitter Emily Guenter contributed five kills and eight digs.
Sophomore libero Alexandra Pestolis chipped in eight digs and freshman setter Maddie Harkey finished with 30 assists and four digs for the Lasers.
Starting with Saddleback next Wednesday, Irvine Valley plays its next four matches at home.
