Women's volleyball libero Alex Pestolis headed to LIU Brooklyn

Irvine Valley sophomore standout women's volleyball player Alexandra Pestolis has committed to NCAA Division I Long Island University Brooklyn.

The libero out out of Fallbrook High, helped the Lasers finish with a record of 16-6 overall and reach the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Playoffs this past season. 

Pestolis played in all 22 Irvine Valley matches and averaged 3.64 digs per set during the 2021 fall indoor season.

She finished with 284 overall digs.

Pestolis had double-digit digs in 15 matches and finished with more than 20 digs in three contests, including a season-high 26 digs in a match at Cypress on Nov. 5, 2021.

She also competed with the beach volleyball squad with the Lasers.

LIU went 10-4 in the NEC last season, including winning six of its final seven regular-season conference matches.
