Moka Saiki is named WBCA All-American honorable mention

Irvine Valley sophomore women's basketball player Moka Saiki has already been named a first team all-Orange Empire Conference player for the 2024-25 season.

But she received an even bigger award on Wednesday.

Saiki was named Women's Basketball Coaches Association Two-Year College All-American Honorable Mention.

"We congratulate the members of the 2025 WBCA Two-Year College Coaches' All-America team," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle M. Donehew. "These young women have worked to elevate their teams and themselves to an elite level of competition. Through their exceptional talents on the basketball court, they have also lifted the women's game."

Saiki starred for the Lasers for two straight years.

She helped lead Irvine Valley to the playoffs both seasons and started 

IVC had a record of 16-14 this past season.

Saiki started in all 30 games and averaged 12.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. She scored in double figures in 20 contests and had 20 points or more in three games with a season-high 25 points against Allan Hancock on Dec. 20, 2024.

As a freshman in 2024-25, the former Portola High star, helped IVC go 21-8 overall and 12-2 for a second-place finish in the OEC. The Lasers were ranked in the top 10 in So. Cal. all season.

Saiki was selected second-team all-conference.

She averaged 11.0 points and a team-best 1.9 steals per game on the year.

Saiki made 109 total three-pointers in her career at Irvine Valley.

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association is the professional association for coaches of women's and girls' basketball at all levels of competition.
