The Irvine Valley College Women's Basketball Tournament begins today with field of eight teams.
The tournament features 11 games over three days culminating with the championship game on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Games are at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. today.
Irvine Valley opens at 6 p.m. against El Camino.
Irvine Valley reached the championship game last season, falling to Long Beach City, 54-43.
El Camino-Compton, Pasadena City and Imperial Valley are new to this year's event.
The top teams include Long Beach City, Pasadena City, Irvine Valley and El Camino.
In this week's state poll, Long Beach City is ranked No. 1 with Pasadena City No. 7 and Irvine Valley No. 20.
In the SoCal poll, Long Beach City is No. 1, Pasadena City is No. 4, Irvine Valley is No. 13 and El Camino is No. 14.
Jasmine Williams, an all-tourney player in 2012, returns to lead the Vikings.
Long Beach City is off to a 5-0 start to this season.
The Vikings won the Rose City Classic at Pasadena City, beating El Camino, 71-61, in the final on Nov. 16.
El Camino has a record of 5-2 and beat West LA, 111-31, in its last game on Nov. 26.
And Pasadena City is 4-2 and is coming off taking the Glendale tourney last weekend. It beat Irvine Valley, Ventura and Chaffey for the title.
IVC enters with a record of 4-3 so far this season.
Irvine Valley is led by freshman forward Alexis Casillas, sophomore guards Jasmine Kennon and Kiara King and sophomore forward Taylor Casey.
