Baseball player Chris Cody headed to Chaminade University

Irvine Valley sophomore pitcher Chris Cody has committed to NCAA Division II Chaminade University in Hawaii.

The right-handed Cody made 12 appearances and four starts on the mound for the Lasers.

He pitched in 30.1 innings and had a record of 1-2 with one save. Cody shut out 17 batters.

Cody, out of El Modena High, helped IVC finish with a record of 14-26 overall and 5-16 in the Orange Empire Conference this past season.

He is headed to a Chaminade program that had a record of 15-33 overall this spring.
