Former Irvine Valley solid first baseman Casey Kudell was recently named an All-Pacific West Conference player at Chaminade in Hawaii.
Chaminade competes in NCAA Division II.
Kudell, a junior college transfer who was named to the third team, hit .331 on the season with his batting average never dipping below .300 at any point of the season.
The former Irvine High player had 55 hits, 32 RBI, 27 runs, 30 walks and 17 extra base hits, which included 15 doubles.
The Silverswords completed the first year of their return to the diamond after a 44-year absence with a 15-33 mark.
Kudell was named all-Orange Empire Conference after the 2022 season.
The 6-1 first baseman hit .378 with a .500 on base percentage in 2022. He had 45 hits and drove in 25 runs.
Kudell played in 38 games, led the team with 26 runs scored, and had three doubles, one triple and two home runs at the plate.
Irvine Valley finished the 2022 season with a record of 17-23 record overall.
In 2023 for the Lasers, Kudell batted .245 with 16 RBI and played in 35 games overall.
In Irvine Valley's season-ending sweep of Golden West, Kudell went 5 for 12 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBI.
