Irvine Valley's baseball team dropped back-to-back games at Allan Hancock in Santa Maria.
IVC lost on Friday, 11-9, and then on Saturday, 9-1.
The Lasers dropped the contest on Friday despite a career game from sophomore right fielder Zack Stack, who went three for three with two home runs and seven RBI.
On Friday, Irvine Valley jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a two-run home run by sophomore right fielder Zack Stack.
But the Lasers couldn't hold on. Allan Hancock plated five runs in the bottom of the first inning and then added two more runs in the bottom of the second to go up, 9-2.
IVC got three runs back in the top of the third inning. Freshman designated hitter Ryan Santa Cruz scored on a passed ball, Stack had an RBI single and IVC scored a run on a double play to make it a 9-5 game.
Allan Hancock added a run in the bottom of the third inning to take a 10-5 lead.
Irvine Valley scored a run in the top of the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Stack and got three more runs in the top of the seventh on a three-run shot by Stack to make it 10-9.
Allan Hancock closed out the scoring with a run in the bottom of the eighth.
Along with Stack, freshman center fielder Ben McConnell went 2 for 5 with a double and two runs scored and sophomore second baseman Colin Conroy was 2 for 3 with two walks and three runs scored.
But IVC pitchers gave up 14 hits, walked four hitters and hit two batters on the afternoon.
Freshman Jason Farese gave up the loss. He started and went 1.2 innings, giving up nine runs on seven hits and three walks. Allan Hancock hit two home runs.
Freshman Chad Burchit relieved and kept the Lasers in it. He pitched 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts.
On Saturday, IVC took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a Allan Hancock error.
But that was the only run that the Lasers could muster on the day. Allan Hancock scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and three more in the bottom of the sixth inning and then closed the game out.
The Bulldogs ended up with 15 hits and two home runs. IVC also made two key errors. Only four of Allan Hancock's runs were earned.
IVC freshman starting pitcher Nick Janowicz took his first loss of the season and moved to 2-1. He went 4.0 innings and gave up three runs (one earned) on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts.
At the plate, Conroy was 2 for 4, freshman first baseman Brett Long went 2 for 4 and sophomore right fielder Grant Rockefeller was 1 for 4 with one RBI.
Irvine Valley's record slipped to 7-6 overall, while Allan Hancock improved to 6-5.
The Lasers are on the road again on Tuesday, playing at San Diego City at 2 p.m. IVC will host San Diego City on Thursday at 2 p.m. and then host Allan Hancock Friday at 1 p.m.
