Basketball player Dominic Sarmiento headed to De La Salle

Irvine Valley freshman frontcourt player Dominic Sarmiento has committed to De La Salle University in the Philippines.

The college is in Manila.

The 6-8 Sarmiento out of Alameda High played in 15 games for the Lasers this past season.

He helped the Lasers to a 17-12 overall record, 8-8 mark in the conference for third place and a trip to the So. Cal. Regional Playoffs in 2023-24.

He is headed to a De La Salle program that won PinoyLiga Collegiate Cup Season 3 Championship in June. It was De La Salle's first championship in the PinoyLiga Collegiate Cup.
