Irvine Valley sophomore men's basketball player Josh Azucena has committed to Pensacola Christian College.
The 5-11 point guard played two years for the Lasers and was part of a team that went 17-12 overall in the 2023-24 season and 8-8 for third place in the Orange Empire Conference.
Irvine Valley reached the So. Cal. Regional Playoffs in 2023-24.
Azucena had a solid year in the 2022-23 season, playing in 19 games and starting two contests. IVC coach Jerry Hernandez also credited Azucena as being a "great teammate and strong worker for the team."
The former Newport Christian High standout is headed to a Pensacola Christian team that had a record of 10-17 overall last season and plays in the National Christian College Athletic Association.
