Irvine Valley sophomore point guard David Ogunlade has committed to NAIA Hastings College in Hastings, Neb.
Ogunlade was named Irvine Valley's most improved player of the year this past season after helping the Lasers to a 17-12 overall record, 8-8 mark in the conference for third place and a trip to the So. Cal. Regional Playoffs.
After being one of the top reserves during the 2022-23 season, Ogunlade was a leader and standout player on both ends of the court for IVC in 2023-24.
The 6-1 Ogunlade was the best perimeter defender for the Lasers.

He averaged 27.1 minutes per game in conference play for IVC.
The 6-1 Ogunlade had nine games with at least eight points, including three in double figures.
Ogunlade scored a season-high 17 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the field and 5 of 6 from the free throw line in IVC's 68-66 comeback win over Cerritos on Nov. 11, 2023 to capture its own Irvine Valley Classic event.
Ogunlade is heading to a Hastings program that had quite a season last year.
The Broncos, who compete in the NAIA, finished with a record of 23-9 overall last season. Hastings went 15-5 in conference and won the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament.
The squad also earned an invitation to the NAIA Men's Basketball Tournament.
