Women's volleyball team sweeps Santa Barbara on the road

The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a sweep Wednesday night on the road.

After sweeping Canyons at home last Friday night at home, the Lasers traveled to Santa Barbara City and won, 25-22, 25-21, 27-25.

Irvine Valley hit .269 as a team and had two players with double-digit kills.

Freshman outside hitter Tessa Marocco led the way with 15 kills. She also hit .423 on the night and added eight digs.

Sophomore opposite Jayli Nealy also had a solid night with 13 kills. She also hit .423.

Sophomore outside hitter Chloe Swanson added six kills and sophomore libero Gabi Brown contributed 11 digs.

Freshman Mia Bartolone and sophomore Maddie Harkey split time at the setter position and ran the offense.

Bartolone had 19 assists and five digs and Harkey finished with 18 assists for IVC.

The Lasers play again on Friday at Moorpark at 2 p.m.
