The Irvine Valley women's soccer team was just outside of top 20 in the state in the California Community College Sports Information Association poll that was released on Tuesday.
IVC was 24th in the voting two weeks ago and moved up to 22nd with 19 points this week.
The Lasers have a record of 6-1 overall heading into their Orange Empire Conference opener Tuesday at Orange Coast.
IVC has out-scored opponents, 28-3, on the season so far.
In this week's poll, Saddleback, Canyons, Long Beach City, Folsom Lake and San Francisco made up the top five.
The Lasers have been led by sophomore forward Kuuipo Laumatia with six goals and two assists, freshman midfielder/forward Maggie Contreras with two goals and two assists, sophomore forward Megan Beal with two goals and five assists and freshman goalie Alexa Peterson, who has given up just one goal overall.
The next Lasers' next home match is on Friday against district rival and the top-ranked team in the state, Saddleback, at 3 p.m.
