Irvine Valley's women's soccer team closed out the final week for its season with two positive results in Orange Empire Conference matches.
The Lasers tied Golden West, 3-3, at home on Tuesday and then defeated Norco, 3-0, on the road on Thursday afternoon.
Irvine Valley finished the year with a record of 7-8-6 overall and 5-7-4 in conference.
IVC ended up in fifth place in the conference standings.
The Lasers nearly let their match against Golden West get away on Tuesday.
IVC led, 2-0, at halftime on goals by sophomore midfielder Vanessa Gonzalez and sophomore midfielder Lexi Benedict. It was Benedict's team-best 14 goal of the season.
But Golden West scored the first three goals of the second half to take a 3-2 lead.
Irvine Valley earned the tie with a late goal on a penalty kick by freshman forward Emily Rodriguez.
The Lasers then finished the year with a shutout on the road at Norco Thursday.
All three of Irvine Valley's goals came in the second half.
Sophomore Samantha Mendoza scored off an assist from sophomore defender Rosa Soto-Aleman just a minute into the half.
Then Gonzalez scored just two minutes later to give Irvine Valley a 2-0 advantage.
Sophomore midfielder Payton Purcell closed out the win with a goal in the 90th minute off an assist from sophomore forward Helene Drean.
Sophomore goalie Yesenia Pulido had to make just three saves in goal for the clean sheet.
