Irvine Valley is at the top of the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association State Top 25 Poll for the fourth consecutive week.
The Lasers improved their record to 16-0 overall and 10-0 in the Orange Empire Conference with a 25-8, 25-17, 25-11 win over Riverside at home last Friday night.
IVC hit .373 in the contest and got 15 kills from sophomore outside hitter Olivia Aguilar, nine kills from sophomore outside hitter Taira Ka'awaloa, 36 assists from sophomore setter Megan Ramseyer and 10 digs from sophomore libero Gabi Lau to lead the way.
Irvine Valley is hitting an impressive .343 as a team on the season, which is second in the state.
Ramseyer ranks second in the state in assists per set at 11.04, Aguilar is fourth in the state in kills per set at 4.55 and Ka'awaloa is ninth at 4.18 kills.
Irvine Valley, which is the last remaining undefeated team in the state, heads into a big week in conference action.
The Lasers travel to No. 16 Saddleback on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and then host Golden West on Friday at 6 p.m. in its Dig Pink Night.
IVC had to rally to beat Saddleback in five sets earlier this season.
The two sets were only two of three the Lasers have given up all season. Irvine Valley has recorded 14 three-set sweeps on the year and has seven in a row.
The Lasers have won 23 sets straight.
Four teams from the OEC are in the rankings with IVC at No. 1, Saddleback at No. 16, Cypress at No. 18 and Orange Coast at No. 25.
