Irvine Valley's women's volleyball team ran its record to 4-0 overall and finished off its third sweep of the season with an easy win over Cerritos on Wednesday night at home.

The match was the first ever with second-year Cerritos coach Kari Pestolesi and her father, longtime Irvine Valley Coach, Tom Pestolesi.

Irvine Valley came out on top, 25-15, 25-10, 25-10.

The Lasers hit .375 on the night to just .015 for Cerritos (0-5).

Sophomore outside hitter Olivia Aguilar led the way with 13 kills. She hit .500 on the night and also recorded a team-high four aces.

Sophomore outside hitter Taira Ka'awaloa ended with 10 kills, 12 digs and two blocks, sophomore right side Diamond Brogan had five kills and two blocks and freshman outside hitter Alyssa Vortouni recorded four kills and two blocks.

Sophomore setter Megan Ramseyer played the first two sets and ended with 21 assists, three digs and two aces and sophomore libero Gabi Lau contributed six digs and one ace.

In all, seven different players recorded at least one kill for IVC and 10 players recorded at least one dig.

Cerritos hung with Irvine Valley for a little while in the first set, but it was all IVC after that.

The Lasers raced out to a 12-2 lead in the second set. Aguilar eventually closed out the set with a kill.

The third set was close with Cerritos pulling to within 7-6 after a kill by Jody Suski.

But Irvine Valley then reeled off eight of the next nine points to take control. Aguilar had six kills during the run.

And then up, 15-8, Irvine Valley scored 10 of the next 12 points to end the set and the match.

A kill by Brogan set up match point at 24-10 and a hitting error by Cerritos ended things. Suski finished with six kills and 12 digs to pace Cerritos.

Irvine Valley will play again on Friday, traveling to Long Beach City to take on Misty May Treanor's Vikings in a nonconference match at 6 p.m.
